A free MarginNote alternative for iPad and iPhone.

Helicon is a reader for non-fiction PDFs and EPUBs. Hold a finger in the margin, and a pin drops beside the line. The pin opens a note that holds typing, Apple Pencil ink, a checklist, a photo or your voice.

Notes beside the line, then again in Review.

A pin sits next to the words it is about. Review brings back the pins that are due: Not yet brings one back tomorrow, and Got it spaces it out. Jump to the page from any card.

What MarginNote has that Helicon does not.

MarginNote turns your notes into mind maps and outlines. Helicon has no mind map. It keeps each note on its page, beside its line, and exports a book's notes as Markdown when you want them somewhere else.
